Google Fitbit Air Latest Update

The screenless Google Fitbit Air is getting a major system update that brings vast improvements to its exercise capabilities. Google announced massive upgrades to its background activity intelligence alongside a new preventative health suite. [1, 2, 3]

  • 100+ Supported Activities: The list of auto-detected exercises expands from just 10 types to more than 100. This includes much better accuracy for fast-moving or low-impact routines like tennis, swimming, strength training, HIIT, and Pilates. [1, 2]
  • 2x Better AI Accuracy: Powered by contextual reasoning and machine learning, the tracker combines your historical logs, routine patterns, and location data. This cuts missed workout detections by more than half. [1, 2]
  • Intelligent Auto-Logging: Any workout with a sustained elevated heart rate that crosses your minimum duration threshold (15 minutes by default) is saved automatically. A session summary lands in your mobile app within 30 minutes. [1]
  • Health Guardian Suite: Available for Google Health Premium members, this new preventative feature uses the tracker’s sensors to monitor blood pressure trends and estimate insulin resistance shifts without requiring clinical blood draws. [2, 4]
  • Premium Metal Mesh Bands: Alongside the software updates, Google launched flexible stainless steel Metal Mesh Bands in Champagne Gold and Polished Silver to give the screenless device a style-forward, jewelry-like look. [4, 5]
