RUN X is the first officially sanctioned World Treadmill Championship, launched through a global partnership between fitness technology leader Technogym and World Athletics.The initiative transforms treadmill running from everyday gym cardio into a connected, standardized international competition, bringing together recreational runners and elite athletes on a single global leaderboard.

What Is RUN X?

Indoor running removes external variables—weather, elevation profiles, and variable pavement.By leveraging Technogym’s connected treadmill ecosystem, RUN X creates an equal, certified playing field where indoor runners across the world race the identical distance under verified conditions.

• Standard Distance:Official 5K (5 kilometers).
• Eligibility:Open to anyone aged 18 and older, divided into standard World Athletics age categories and sex divisions.
• Cost:Free registration for runners (facility gym day-access fees may apply depending on the club).
• Platform:Completed on compatible, connected Technogym treadmills located in certified RUN X Official Centers (partner gyms, studios, and athletic clubs).

Competition Roadmap

The championship unfolds across three main stages:

1. Qualifications	October 23, 2026 – January 24, 2027	Run a certified 5K at any participating RUN X Official Center. Your treadmill records and automatically uploads your verified time to the live global leaderboard. The top 25% in each category advance.
2. Regionals	January 30, 2027 – February 28, 2027	Continental-level showdowns held at certified regional hubs to determine the fastest runners per age bracket and division.
3. World Finals	March 20–21, 2027	The top 10 finalists per division qualify for a live, in-person championship final held at the Technogym Village in Cesena, Italy.

Stakes & Rewards

• $100,000 Total Prize Pool: Distributed among top finishers and category winners across divisions.
• Official World Title:Crowned the inaugural World Treadmill Champion recognized by World Athletics.
• World Athletics Wild Cards:Top performers earn invitations and wild-card entries to select World Athletics Series events, including the World Athletics Road Running Championships.

1. Create an Account: Register on the official portal to generate your RUN X ID.
2. Find a Certified Center:Locate an affiliated gym or fitness facility equipped with certified Technogym treadmills.
3. Connect & Run: Tap the RUN X tile on the treadmill display, scan the QR code using your Technogym app to link your runner profile, choose your pace, and race your 5K.
4. Track Your Rank: Watch your results sync directly to the real-time international leaderboard.
