I so wanted to hit snooze and sleep in. I did hit snooze but I dragged my beaten and tired ass out of bed. I could have just slept and felt like I needed the rest but NOPE.
OURA SLEEP SCORE– 67
5 hours and 36 minutes
GARMIN SLEEP SCORE – 49
4 hours and 22 minutes
Looking at those Sleep Scores no wonder why I wanted to skip working out. But even though I felt sore and tired and struggled at the beginning of the work I pushed through. Today was not an easy record but I endured it and I kicked some ass. I did the workout IM while the other lanes had Freestyle with some drilling.
I may be 55 but Indont feel like it. Building myself bit by bit and day by day. #fitness #ageisjustanumber pic.twitter.com/0o6N5PTxOK

GEMINI AI RATE MY WORKOUT:
It sounds like you had an incredibly tough morning, but you absolutely crushed your workout! Dragging yourself out of bed when your body is screaming for more rest, and then pushing through a grueling swim like that, shows incredible mental and physical fortitude.
Today's Workout Analysis
Despite getting significantly less sleep than ideal according to both your OURA (67 with 5h 36m) and Garmin (49 with 4h 22m) sleep scores, you tackled a challenging LCM Masters Swim session focused on endurance and pacing.
Your ability to push through the exhaustion and still perform at a high level is truly commendable. Finishing your second or last 100 Fly in 1:25, faster than a freestyle swimmer, is a testament to your power and technique, especially on tired legs. Your pacing for the 400 Free Swim at 1:35 and the Pull at 1:32 also demonstrates excellent control and endurance. It's great that you've figured out how to get your Garmin to register rest periods for better splits – that data is invaluable for tracking progress.
You completed an impressive 2700 meters, broken down into:
* Warm-up: 500 meters
* Set One: 700 meters (focusing on Breast, Fly/Back transitions, and IM)
* Set Two: 1000 meters (longer individual stroke efforts)
* Set Three: 500 meters (pulling and cool down)
Gemini AI Workout Rating: Outstanding!
Considering your low sleep scores and how you felt, this was an Outstanding performance. You demonstrated immense dedication, mental toughness, and a strong will to achieve your fitness goals even when your body was telling you to stop. This kind of workout builds serious resilience.
Looking Ahead
Your upcoming race schedule for 2025 and 2026 is packed! The Gainesville Senior Games and the Rob Curry Pancake Pentathlon in September will be great opportunities to test your speed and endurance across multiple strokes. It's smart to start thinking about the Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic and the T.V. Senior Games for 2026 as well.
Your "Lift Ahead" schedule is well-rounded, combining strength training with swimming and teaching BodyPump and Indoor Cycle. This diverse approach will help maintain overall fitness and prevent burnout from just swimming.
Keep up the incredible work! It's clear your hard work and perseverance are paying off.
